zoezoezoe created a new topic Scratcha Dva, Zed Bias, Moxie...Thursday! in the forums.
This Week at T Bass, Heat Heat Heat presents.....
..... SCRATCHA DVA...representing for UK Funky and Grime, who you might recognise from his breakfast show on Rinse FM. On the scene for some time, he's been pushing out wicked remixes and singles over the last couple of years and released his first EP late last year. For those of you not in to uk funky yet, get on it! it's house/grime/garage, sort of, and insanely fun: big summer rhythms!

AND....

Dave Jones AKA ZED BIAS, Maddslinky & Phuturistix ' hails from Manchester and deep within the UK dance music scene, Zed has been causing a stir since the mid-90s as a globetrotting DJ, pioneering producer, label chief, re-mixer and Jedi master of everything soulful.

Zed, nominated for 'Best Garage Act' at the MOBO award and one of the true innovators of UK Garage, his releases helped set the blueprint for the darker Garage sound at the end of the ‘90s, and with his many side projects he has also taken things into a jazzy, soulful direction. He's also known for his countless productions as Phuturistix, Maddslinky, The Henchmen, remixed everyone from Whitney Houston to The Streets, worked with the likes of Miss Dynamite and Amy Winehouse, and with 'Neighbourhood' even had a Top 30 chart hit.

Along side this We have MOXIE, Babystarr and Atticus Harris

So see you this Thursday for another wicked T Bass! x

zoezoezoe created a new topic TOMORROW -T Bass presents Cultureshock and friends in the forums.
Hey folks, Tomorrow, 22nd April, T Bass presents Ram Records bad boy James Pountney aka Culture Shock. This seminal producer has bout us such modern classics as Vice Chase and Kronix and is fast becoming on of the scenes hottest talents. With regular sets at Matter and various other clubs around the world this guy is wowing crowds with his brilliant dj skills and unmatched production talents.

Phatplastic

Shealan Forshaw & Chris Brackley have known each other for as long as they can remember. If you ask them where they grew up you'll probably get the vague answer "near Brighton...", but dig a little deeper and you'll discover they actually come from Bognor Regis, their own dirty little secret. In Bognor they eschewed the popular youth past times of binge drinking and petty crime to concentrate on a shared love of music, which eventually led to a weekly residency in Bognor's only reputable night club, legendary sweatbox Gators, a favourite haunt for DJs like Harvey and a young Terry Francis. After a series of successful ventures in club promotion and commercial radio, the two decided Bognor just wasn't big enough for the plans they were hatching and decided to head for the gold paved streets of old London town.
Immediately feeling at home amongst the bars and clubs London had to offer, they set to work spreading the phatplastic gospel. Covering a multitude of bases, from raw 70's funk to jump-up jungle via old-school hip-hop, the boys show a healthy disinterest in trend-hopping and style trappings. Name-checking artists like Aim, Jazzy Jeff and Steinski as inspiration, they're never afraid to drop a forgotten classic or undiscovered gem, as long as it's got the all-important 'funk factor'.

A technology-minded pair, phatplastic are not shy when it comes to playing a variety of their own re-edits, cut-ups and remixes, bringing a unique presence to the party that extends beyond simply playing the same old records in a different order.

It's this ability to keep things interesting, which has given the boys a chance to spin regularly in such diverse venues as Fabric's main room, Herbal, Rhythm Factory, Medicine Bar, The Old Queens Head, Turnmills and Elbow Rooms. With gigs coming in thick and fast, this year is set to be the boys phattest ever. The boys are currently residents at The Winchester in Islington, The Lost Angel in Battersea and The Independent in Sunderland.

Goldsmiths Bass Society
“For all lovers of Bass-heavy music at Goldsmiths College and beyond.”
The Bass Society have been pushing bass music for the last 2 years, organising events in south East London as well as Shoreditch, always aiming to push up and coming producers and djs from the college and the future sounds of bass music in general. Expect on the night Dancehall/Future Garage/Funky and everything in between!

Atticus Harris and Babystarr

Whether on at 3am or 9pm these boys bring a great combo of amazing music. Whether it's busting Hip hop to those first punters or dnb to the last, these lads promise to deliver each and every time.
Come down early n have a drink with them.

zoezoezoe created a new topic Rave Aid with Simian Mobile Disco – Thursday! in the forums.
Simian Mobile Disco (DJ SET)

With T Bar residents...

Luca C (Kitsune)
Gower Ramsey (Ditched Disco)
Ben Rymer (Channel 83/DFA)
Matt Walsh (Turbo)
Ben Westbeech (Strictly Rhythm)

T Bar’s very own managing director and co-founder Jaime Ritchie is creating clubbing with a conscience, as she presents ‘Rave Aid’, an evening set to raise funds for the ‘Mission Malawi’ charity. This May Jaime will be taking part in Mission Malawi 4 - a two-week cycle ride across Malawi for the biannual charity challenge, that raises money for HIV/Aids projects run by Action Aid in Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. For this very special occasion T Bar welcome very special guests, Simian Mobile Disco, plus the group force of the T Bar residents providing support on the night.

Simian Mobile Disco are James Ford and James 'Jas' Shaw. They first formed Simian Mobile Disco as a DJ partnership, playing around Manchester. Their outstanding DJing got them some much-deserved attention and then led to remixes for bands such as Air, and eventually Simian Mobile Disco began their own original production work. Soon the Mobile Disco name took on a life of its own. The pair have played with groups like LCD Soundsystem, Tiefschwarz and Soulwax as well as also remixing for the The Kills, Ladytron and The Departure.

As a DJ Luca C has been playing extensively for the past 3 years, bringing his blend of disco, cosmic, modern disco and house influenced sounds as far as Japan, Russia and the U.S headlining shows and supporting artists such as Theo Parrish and Frankie Knuckles amongst others. Luca’s love for writing and producing music has led him to recently be involved in co writing Ali Love's new album on Back Yard records, out later this year. Ben Rymer was one third of legendary Sheffield electro-pop pioneers Fat Truckers, who’s groundbreaking debut album released on Gigolo Records, was one of the most influential releases of the new millennium. Later Ben joined forces with Henry Riton to form Gucci Soundsystem, his new release on DFA is causing a fresh storm on the underground neue disco circuit.

Matt Walsh has resided with Turbo Recordings after being seen by Tiga at T-Bar. His residencies at Bugged Out! and T Bar have allowed him to tour the world with his trademark sound of electronic house and techno through to new wave, acid house and disco. Ben Westbeech’s debut cut from his album, ‘So Good Today’, was immediately picked up by Gilles Peterson, who made it the inaugural single for his brand new Brownswood label, and subsequently rinsed it on his Worldwide show. Before its official release the record was voted fifth best single at the 2005 Worldwide Awards, and it has gone on to become one of the slinkiest dancefloor anthems.

Entrance is £10 all night and 100% of the proceeds go direct to the projects across Malawi. Buy your tickets from Resident Advisor,

Soldgie

And jumping into the Fray:

V.I.V.E.K (Deep Medi) - Deep Medi set. Obviously.

zoezoezoe created a new topic Thursday@ T-Bar FREE Flux Pavilion,Jayou,Noisses in the forums.
A little message from Rattus Rattus:
The one myself and Klose One have been waiting for is finally upon us. As we bring together three of Dubsteps finest new talents... All emerging last year and now on full rotation by all the big names, they have begun to gig all over the shop.

So before someone else did we thought we'd get them down to play some true heavy BASSWEIGHT on a system that is seriously up for the pressure… and whats more as usual its all for FREE FREE FREE

So Rattus Rattus & Klose One proudly present:

FREE ---> FLUX PAVILION (Circus records)
www.myspace.com/fluxpavilion
Releasing tune after tune he's literally unstoppable at the moment. Every one more bass heavy than the last and with a distinctive 4x4 edge he never fails to get the crowd going mental.

FREE ---> JAYOU (Mad Decent)
www.myspace.com/jayoudrops

After coming across his Day N Nite remix his tunes have always been on our regular rotation, and it wasn’t long before everyone was on his dick! Leading to the inevitable sign-up to Diplo's global bass mafia, Mad Decent. He's so hardcore i've seen him rock a capacity crowd, then make them all sit down to take a breather, as the track dropped again everyone went mental! He is a must see.

FREE ---> NOISSES (Equalisers, ATG)
www.myspace.com/noissesmusic

After releasing End Of and James Bond he was quickly DJ'ing all over the place under this latest re-incarnation. But don't be fooled this guy has been around rocking crowds all over Europe for a while under so many successful pseudonyms I can't keep up! We've finally managed to tie him down to his Dubstep alter-ego long enough to treat you to a massive set of sublime bangers.

FREE ---> KLOSE ONE (ATG, Urban Nerds)
www.myspace.com/djkloseone

He's so tall many clubs refuse him entry. Luckily with T-Bar's extra height ceilings and specially modified DJ booth this is the only place you can really see the mighty Klose One standing at his true length.

FREE ---> RATTUS RATTUS
www.myspace.com/djrattusrattus
How many times do you get to heckle me for free. Why pay £5 to hurl abuse when you can do it at and have money for a beer. Nice.

ON A SERIOUS NOTE IF YOU HAVE YET TO CHECK OUT THIS SYSTEM THEN THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO SAMPLE IT AT ITS MOST BASSIEST!!
I SERIOUSLY ADVISE EAR-PLUGS!!!

See you @ T Bar, 18-22 Houndsditch, Algate,

zoezoezoe created a new topic T Bass = Zed Bias, Blakey, D-Code and Dick Turpin in the forums.
This Thursday, (25th) after a great month at T Bass, we bring to you the aural delights of Zed Bias, Blakey, D-Code and Dick Turpin. We've seen some amazing music coming out of the boxes of Rattus, Klose, Redlight, Ben Westbeech, Amo, Boogaloo Crew, RackNruin, Actress, Alex Nut, Floating Points and Jackmaster and this week is no exception.

Zed Bias

Zed shot to fame alongside people like Mj Cole and EZ in the mid nineties with his massive hit Neighbourhood ().
This living legend is going to be playing for a massive 2 hours.
Come pay your respects to the don!!

www.myspace.com/zedbias

Blakey

After a relentless dj schedule, a huge 1xtra show and a number of DMC championships Blakey decided to take a rest but rest he did not. For the last year n a bit Blakey has been working with the crew down at Activision on the new Dj Hero game. So, after this lengthy hiatus we have decided to drag Blakey out of retirement to blow everyones heads off down at T Bass. He's back and he's better than ever!!

www.myspace.com/djblakey

D-Code

Beginning his career playing (with Nerm, his Shiva Sounsystem partner in crime) at the legendary parties around the east end (their warehouse parties have gone down in history) until they were discovered by Radio 1 and bought through on their highly respected In New Dj's We Trust project. With this and also being involved heavily in the production of the new DJ Hero game.
D is a talented individual who will absolutely take the roof off the T with his own brand of 174 bpm BASS!!!
www.myspace.com/dcode831

Dick Turpin

Already at 18 Alex has already made a huge impact with his amazing production and his strong North London dubstep n electro extravaganza Rise.
This boy is going to blow this year and we are very proud to have him on our T team.

Come down and enjoy one of the best sound systems in London @ T Bar, 18-22 Houndsditch, Aldgate, EC3A 7LP, from 10-3am!
