DJ RAP @CLUB VERTIGO Got to club vertigo at around 11:30 PM. Not alot of people at the club yet. DJ VEGA is on the decks playing some hip hop. I notice DJ RADCHID getting ready to play. More people keep comming in as dj radchid sets a nice mood on the floor with some nice liquid funk and i think to myself "Oh god how i missed the sound of drum&bass music on such a good soundsystem!" Its 12:15 now and the club is starting to get packed. By this time i begin to get sucked in by the atmosphere. Vertigo is an amazing club, ive been to fabric in london, the end , crobar new york and many other places and this venue just blows em away , its incredible to think we have such a nice big club down here in costa rica. THE LIGHTS AND THE SOUNDSYSTEM IS SIMPLY AMAZING! If u just happen to leave a beer bottle anywhere inside the main room u can be sure it will come to life as it will start moving away from u the momet u put it down! there is sooooooooooo much bass! no wonder all the big house djs like nic fanculli, deep dish, san dra collins and many more are saying this is there new favorite club to play at. By 12:30 theres already quite alot of atendees and the atmosphere and vibe is awosome, i am having such a good time myself! I see DJ NME getting ready to grace the decks. I must say i really enjoyed RADCHIDS set tonight, he played a varied selection of liquid funk and nice jump up. some of the tunes he played during the night where: "Q PROJECT - BANG OUT and UNDER SHE GOES", "ABSTRACT AND DJ SS - SEX IN SPACE", alot of the new stuff from dj marky and the sp collective and some dillinja here and there all mixed flawlessly as always by the man we call RADCHID. Over all it was a very nice selection wich set a really good vibe. i enjoyed it quite alot like i wrote before. At around 12:45 DJ NME got hold of the decks, he let radchids record play till the end , stoped the music and thanked everyone for comming and asked the few people who wherent on the dancefloor to get there ass up and start dancing! I for myself was already on the dancefloor and sweating! I dont know the name of the first tune wich he started out his set with but it absolutley blew up the dancefloor! NME's set was filled with energy and massive rollers, he kept dancing and smiling as he played and mixed everytune. Some of the tunes that i remeber he played where: "THE FORCE - DROP IT", "SUB FOCUS - X RAY", "DJ HAZARD - TIMES UP", and "CHASE AND STATUS - DUPPY MAN REMIX" amogst some other tunes from ZINC, PENDULUM, true playas and some ragga jungle. At around 12:45 in the evening NME stoped the music once more and anounced his last tune and introduced dj rap. at this moment the crowd whent absolutley crazy! and we whent into a total frenzy when he ended his set with HOLD YOUR COUOR from PENDULUM. the dacefloor was packed at this moment and everyone was screaming! DJ RAP got hold of the decks, she started out with some very heavy tunes from dillinja and konflict. I must admit that i had heard a few bad comments about dj raps recent drum n bass presentations ,and this being her last dnb gig ever i was very sceptic about her performance. but top be honest after about 30 minutes of listening to her i was amazed with her skills and selection. Yes its true , she plays all drum n bass on cds now days, but the way she handles the pioneer cdj's 1000 is amazing. she makes it seem as if she was actually using vinil. Her mixing skills where off the hook, compaird to djs like Friction, nicky blackmarket, zinc, mickey finn and all the big names out there she has nothing to envy. her mixing was tight and in control. I must say tough, that being a UK dj i was kind of expecting some newer tunes. dont get me wrong , she did play alot of tunes most of the crowd didnt know and had never heard before, but she also played alot of classics in her set like "SAMBASSIM", "SPACE INVADERS", "ORIGNIAL NUTTAH", "MESSIAH" and alot of others wich had been canned by DJ RADCHID AND NME years ago. That was probably my only complain from her set, put that aside and it was a nearly perfect set. :) the night carried on, DJ RAP played for around 2 hours and then RADCHID and NME played a back to back set till 6 am in the morning! i headed home after this, feeling exhausted but very happy, now all i can do is wait for the next party, next up is DIESELBOY , I CANT WAIT!
