On arrival, you could tell it was going to be a busy night...the line went
around the corner for the paying and guest list queue. But for Ram's 15th
anniversary what do you expect? It was pouring down with rain and the line
didn't seem to be moving at all. But everyone outside could hear the tunes
pumping inside and no-one was about to give up and go home.

After waiting in the guest list queue for about 45 minutes I began to
wonder if I would actually make it inside the club...my advice to you all:
BUY YOUR TICKETS BEFORE HAND...because it will always be this busy at
these nights and if you have a ticket you won't have to wait in line half
as long!! Standing in the rain, soaking wet, when you could hear the tunes
thumping through the walls was a horrible experience...so avoid it if you
can!!!

Once inside I warmed up in no time, it was completely rammed in there...
(No pun intended). Sometimes when a club reaches capacity it can cause
fights to break out where it gets quite cramped. But there was a really
good atmosphere, despite the club being so busy.
The best sets of the night would have to be: Andy C, his mixing was on
point and the tunes were rolling...You can always count on Andy to get a
crowd hyped! When he had finished his set it took him about a half hour
just to get through the crowd because everyone was trying to shake his
hand... I wonder if these veterans of Drum and Base ever tire of being
thanked, over and over again…

Bryan G and Die were supposed to play back to back. Despite the fact that
Bryan G couldn't make it Dj Die played a heavy set! He dropped 'Number 1'
with a hip hop break over it into Clipz's remix of 'Hand Grenade'...the
crowd went completely mental!!! His selection of tunes was perfect for the
crowd that night. I don’t think there was actually a point where people
stopped dancing… this is always a good sign!

The Mc’s kept the crowd lively all night! GQ’s lyrics were rolling…I heard
some of his lyrics I didn’t hear for a long time. ‘Drop it down’ by
Calibre ft Mc Fats was played, which I believe was no coincidence as Mc
Fats was in the house. Sometimes at raves it gets to a point where the
MC’s take over the music, but that night there was a really good balance.

To sum it up, I’ve been going to Ram for a long time, and I have never
been disappointed. In Drum and Bass it’s not just about one good rave-
it’s about consistency, and Ram always delivers! If you like D n B, you
enjoy a lively crowd, and you want a night that guarantees that the tunes
will be rolling, then this is the night for you. Ram Records has been one
of the most important labels in the history of Drum and Bass and I believe
their 15th anniversary represented everything it stands for.
