| 12th Jan Hospital Records @ Fabric Friday 4th January 2008 |
 |

Right, where do I start? I suppose the beginning would be good. We arrived at Fabric around 11:30. Went straight in and up the stairs and
there appeared to be a bit of a queue for the cloakroom. It wasn’t too bad in the end so we put our coats and bags in and went downstairs… We soon found our way to the main room and as you can imagine, around 12:00, the room was already rammed!? We luckily made it for Fabio’s set. Let me tell you the man smashed it!!! We managed to squeeze to the front where the DJ booth is so managed to catch a glimpse of him rinsin’ it out. He looked like he was enjoying it too which always gets the crowd more in to it! Everyone in the room was dancing, or as I would put it, ‘AVIN’ IT!’ and really enjoying the chilled out atmosphere due to a combination of great mixing, great tunes and a great venue. It was the perfect start to a perfect evening. We decided to go grab a drink and despite it being pretty rammed, we got served pretty quickly and the bar staff seemed to be enjoying the show… Can’t get better service then that! We danced for a bit more to Fabio who I’m sure dropped Disco Dodo by Lynx, an absolute personal favourite of mine, then went for a ciggy. That wasn’t too painful either as there was no queue to get to the smoking area which is always a bonus. You just want to smoke your cigarette and get back to the rave! So we get back in, grab another drink and get back to the main room. It was too good not too! Everyone’s jumping about, if my memory serves me correctly, Shy FX was on the one’s n two’s! Again, we can’t do anything else but dance. There was such a good vibe. We shook hands with a few random ravers, clearly enjoying it too. We found another room, room three I believe and it was bangin’ in there too. I wouldn’t be able to tell u who was on at this stage but it was just as good as the main room.
We went for a little walk to find another room but ended up on the
balcony to the main arena. What a view! People dancing on the stage
dance floor ram packed, people dancing on the balcony! By this point, I
believe High Contrast were on. Again, another wicked set. I honestly
could not stop dancing!
Eventually, we ended up back downstairs to the main arena as it looked
far too good to not be involved! Cyantific were on. I have to say, for me
this was my favorite set. They double dropped so many tunes and did it
so well, teasing us with their mixing skills!? How jealous was I lol! Really
got the crowd going and got us girls to get to that stage. Two cool girls
helped me up on the stage and I decided to have a little boogey up there.
I can’t stress how chilled and happy the atmosphere was. It really added
to the evening being so good.

After this, my memory becomes a little blurry in terms of detail but I
have to say, the evening was one of the best I’ve been to for a very long
time. I can’t fault any of the DJ’s in any way and the general atmosphere
was great! Unfortunately, I didn’t make it to the Dubstep arena but I did
however ask a number of people whilst outside smoking
and they all said it was cool!
If I had to give the night marks out of 10, I’d give a 10!? An amazing night
with a great line up and an atmosphere to match.
Go Hospital Records!
