ARTIST: HAZARD
TRACKS: MACHETE BASS EP

CAT NUMBER: PLAYAZ004
RELEASE DATE: 19th MAY 2008
Undoubtedly the biggest release of Hazard’s career and the biggest D’n’B release
for quite some time is finally here! With all four tracks having demolished clubs
worldwide over the past six months with Hype leading the charge
(even BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe has been bashing Machete!),
fans everywhere now have the chance to get their hands on it.
Unless you’ve been hibernating during the winter you won’t have failed to hear ‘Machete’
out and about. Rowdy is an understatement for this one as Hazard unleashes the sickest
b-movie speech amongst a barrage of face wincing bass charges and heart thumping
kicks. Biggest dance floor tune out there at the moment
simple as that.
‘Trouble Maker’ is a little more subdued, but still deadly as it rolls out after a simple hi-hat
intro with skipping beats, sharp b-line gurgles and panicked string pads. A subtle dubby
vocal used sparingly finishes off this cut nicely.
Onto the second disc and ‘Killers Don’t Die’ comes on strong with another grizzly
vocal sample (where does he get them from??). Kicking straight in with a simple
stepping break it doesn’t mess around as a mystery villain tells us ‘I’m a killer
that’s why, killer’s don’t die so easy’ and the question / answer bass riff drops
in and we’re away.
Finally just as we think Hazard can’t get any nastier he slays us with ‘Cowards Beware’
an audio assault that isn’t for the fain-hearted.
Big with Andy C, Friction, Hype, Bailey, Fabio, Chase & Status, Hazard
Pascal, Sub Focus, Crissy Criss
and many more.
