This years most imaginative festival line up” – VIRTUAL FESTIVALS

WEEKEND / CAMPING AND DAY TICKETS ON SALE NOW!

At the forefront of culture Creamfields can now reveal the interactive on-site art programme that will engage and entertain revellers this year. CreamTVfields will have a dedicated TV set in the fields amongst the crowd, providing the backdrop to a unique blend of street culture mixed, mashed and blended with the work of some of the UK’s most cutting edge contemporary artists. All this will be churned up and re-presented in a digital stream of online film, moving image, videocasts and sound.

Following the success of last years ‘Cream Show’ Exhibition at Liverpool John Moores University’s Site Gallery, the two groups join forces again.  Site have been invited to the festivals 10th anniversary and have teamed up with Grizedale Arts and independent curator/producer Sam Skinner to produce 2 incredible days of visual arts at this years Creamfields.

With the help of FACT.TV, CreamTVfields and Cream News will be broadcasting live and direct throughout the weekend, online and on itunes. The station will capture the magic of the fields as an interactive experience with contributions by musicians, artists and festival-goers to be broadcast on the Main Stage big screens throughout the weekend.

The CreamTVfields open air studio has been designed by curator/producer Sam Skinner with architect Ken Martin and incorporates a chicken house facade by the bang-on-trend Pablo Bronstein. Sam has also devised Paint Jam which will see the brightest stars of Merseyside’s graffiti, illustration and graphic art scenes battling it out to paint the studio’s walls live over the two days. Revelers will witness and inspire an extraordinary unfolding of creative folly. Artists from Zap Graffiti will create work encompassing bugged-out characters, swirling psychedelic forms and general wonderment, reflecting and celebrating the heady and colourful mix of Creamfields. There will also be the opportunity for festival goers to make their mark alongside other artists, for what promises to be a unique expression of the festival.

Paint Jam artists include: www.kevgrey.com / www.quangowangism.com / www.sketchybeast.com and www.zapgraffiti.co.uk

To provide the content for CreamTVfields, international art organisation Grizedale Arts are commissioning a jaw dropping live performance by Marcus Coates and bringing artists from its stable of international projects to contribute and collaborate with sound, video and graphics. These artists will include: -

William Pope L, Nathaniel Mellors, Pablo Bronstein, Jen Liu, Nina Pope and Tim Olden, juneau/projects/, Guestroom, Bedwyr Williams http://www.saatchi-gallery.co.uk/artists/bedwyr_williams.htm, Myvillages http://www.myvillages.org, Harold Offeh, Kai Oi Jay Yung, Gelatin & MOMS

All of the projects produced by Site and Grizedale for CreamTVfields will enable festival-goers to get creative like never before and the talented bunch of artists on board can’t wait to get going.

“CreamTVfields provides an opportunity for Site and Grizedale Arts to participate in one of the country’s best and most loved festivals and for artists to use Creamfields 10th Anniversary as a canvas for their ideas and energy. CreamTVfields will also allows the Creamfields audience (both at the festival and online) to experience this unique project via stage screens, mobile phone and the internet. With any luck, Creamfields and Contemporary Art may never be the same again”.

John Byrne (Manager/Curator of Site).

Adam Sutherland - Director of Grizedale arts and teetotal drugs campaigner said: ‘Bloody hell sounds like a total cultural train wreck, there’s no way I’m going’

Sam Skinner: “It’s going to be madness, all the artists for Paint Jam can’t wait to get busy and create some dazzling eye candy for the party.’

Having already unveiled the showstopping troubadours who will be bounding onto site, Creamfields entertainers include jugglers, show girls and trapeze artists as well as an amazing array of hang-outs including vintage funfair, hospitality arena and the boutique campsite complete with yurts and tipis.

Creamfields celebrates the 10th anniversary in style with boutique camping and an action packed 2 dayer of full-on entertainment. With more events than ever taking place in the UK this year, Creamfields revellers know this year’s bank holiday weekend extravaganza will truly be the cream of the crop.

CreamTVfields is a collaboration between Cream, Site (Liverpool School of Art and Design/LJMU), Grizedale Arts, FACT and Sam Skinner (Big Romantic)

CreamTVFields is curated by John Byrne (Site/LJMU), Adam Sutherland (Grizedale Arts), and Sam Skinner (Big Romantic). It is supported by Arts Council England, Liverpool John Mores University, ACME and FACT.
